Boots always have 3 for 2 sales on so I tend to always wait for their sales to come on because hey why not. Besides you never come out with just one product so why not enjoy some freebies. I was away last weekend and before making a trip to Boots I checked out their website to see if they had a sale on because I needed new mascaras and was happy to see that they did. When I went into store I saw they had a one day triple points offer in store (gotta love points, I've already saved and spent a ton of points already) and dammit I knew I should've read the small print because it was if you spend £35 and I spent £29! The Monday after when I came back to London, I made another trip to Boots and ended up spending another £20. Whoooops! Anyways heres a few items that I picked up:
Nivea Men Post Shaving Balm
No, I'm not using this for shaving (although you could possibly give that a try!). Nikkie Tutorials ran out of primer and decided to try this and since then has raved about how this balm works perfectly as a primer and it has quickly taken the internet by storm. I was convinced after watching KathleenLights video and thats when I decided to go out and get one for myself since primers can be quite expensive and this one seemed to work better than the MUFE primer (that I've been eyeing up) on Kathleen. Apparently the reason why it works so well is because the second most ingredient used is Glycerin which makes whatever you put on top stick to it. Isn't that what a primer is supposed to do? Perfect! This balm originally retails for £5.35 but I picked it up for just £2.67. Complete bargain!
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
This is my second purchase of this mascara, which itself says something about how much I love it. I'm such a product hoarder and I have a dying urge to try every beauty product out there but once I tried this I knew it was one that I'd be going back to. This is a perfect all rounder mascara that separates the lashes beautifully.
L'oreal Telescopic Carbon Black
Another drugstore raved about mascara for all the right reasons. It comes with a tiny little brush that looks scary at first but it actually works amazingly! I think I might just do a top 5 drugstore mascara soon.
Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder
OMG I'm so excited to try this powder. It's so finely milled and feels like silk. It has also been raved about a lot and has been compared to the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder. Recently I've been getting a disgustingly oily forehead. I also wanted to try a finishing powder to see if it makes a difference to the finish of my foundation. Hopefully this one doesn't break me out as most face powders I've tried have broken me out. The Boots I went to only had two shades available so I picked up the darkest one there but I've checked their website and they seem to have more shades available, so if you can't find your shade in store then try checking online.
Soap and Glory One Heck of Blot
On my second trip to Boots, I picked up another powder, which is also talked about a lot in the blogging community. I think I was actually meant to pick up the Kick Ass Instant Retouch Powder, but I was in a rush to get home because I needed the loo. I actually looked at the Kick Ass Powder and confused it for the Kick Ass Concealer, which I do own but ain't too keen on. Anyways I can pick it up another time because I want the Brow Archery Pencil but they never seem to have the shade Chocolate in stock (I even checked their drawers LOL) so I might just order it online.
Nevertheless, I've heard this is a great powder and I'll give it try, hopefully it will work well for my T-Zone. I have two face powders now that should last me a lifetime. I hate picking shades when purchasing powder and luckily this one is translucent therefore can be used all over without changing the colour of my foundation. Also, they've added a primer and foundation to this line so if I like this product, I will definitely consider purchasing the others.
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
I've spoken about this concealer before on my blog and I love how lightweight it is. Hides dark circles really well and is super easy to blend. There isn't much more to say about this concealer other than the fact that it is super affordable and a great concealer that does its job.
Maybelline The Nudes Palette
I have swatched this before in store and it felt like butter so it should blend really well. I was really unsure about whether I should buy this because I like my high end eyeshadows but like I said, I was in a rush to get home so eh why not? The shades in this palette are right up my street as I tend to usually go for browns and these shades are suitable for daily wear.
