2018 was the year I really focussed on my fitness and diet and I was super happy with the results that I achieved just in time for my Nikkah. With my wedding coming up I was eager to continue with my fitness journey and see further results with the main goal being to tone up - I've definitely celebrated a bit too much and put on a few pounds so will need to lose those first. I want to push myself and would love to get myself back into classes as it's been a while and I've just been working hard by myself but find that classes can often give you that extra push in a short time. Finding classes that fit around my work timetable is a struggle. I mean I'd love to have a personal trainer but they're very expensive and classes are the next best thing.

Yogasphere matsI was lucky enough to be given complimentary tickets at work to attend a Yogasphere class at The Gherkin. This was my first 'proper' yoga class. I've been to other evening sessions at the gym but they were always pretty basic and I never felt like I got much from the class, apart from some basic stretches.

Up on the 39th floor, the view was insane and every time we did the upward dog you could see the beautiful cloudless blue sky. It was a cold morning (due to snow the next day) however the sun was beaming through the glass and eliminated the entire room - helping us to wake up for the day ahead. I never thought I could make it to a class that early but it was definitely worth it. I can only imagine how dreamy a morning session of yoga in an exotic country will be. I doubt I'll be able to drag my husband along with me but I might just have to bribe him.

The night before was leg day so I struggled with some of the exercises that really flexed my muscles. Having said that, I could really do with improving my flexibility and overall health. I also need to work on my breathing technique to make sure I maximise the relaxing benefits yoga has to offer.

The session ended with a wellness talk, concentrating on loving what you do and adopting a good work life balance. It was a great way to start the morning on a positive note before work. I love starting my morning in a calm and relaxed mood, I get very anxious if anything disrupts my morning or I feel rushed so I may just consider making this a regular routine to keep me calm and full of energy.
